Alpacowl

Cascade Eco Alpaca - Color 1517
Size US7 4.5mm circ.

This was such a simple knit but I'm posting it because I've had a tough time actually finishing any knitting lately. I don't know what it is. I'm clocking a lot of knitting time but am just in a rut. I've knit so many things to almost 95% done in some cases only to frog. I just can't seem to get in the groove.

Anyway, this yarn was an absolute delight to work with... slippery-soft alpaca. This cowl is about 1.5 skeins of yarn and is about 14" tall. Perfect for scrunching around my neck or pulling up to block the wind.

Do I need another cowl? Um. No. I'm accumulating quite the collection of cowls actually. I prefer them to scarves and it is fun to have one to match everything. Plus, my guys can also wear this one so it's going in the 'for the family' category.

These photos were taken on Valentine's Day... we spent the day at the beach.

I do think I'll have another FO to report soon. I started a second sock of a pair tonight and am quite pleased with it. The yarn is obnoxiously bright but one of the most delightful sock yarns I've ever knit with... more details to come!

I only dream about the beach--we spent Valentin's Day in the snowdrifts. I think I'll have to try a cowl. Looks wonderfully comfortable. Funny that the word verification is "pansee", since I'm on my way out to seed all the pansies in the greenhouse. Or is it telling me to just get off the computer and get to work?

I have a cowl about 50% done. I just can't seem to pick it up and finish it. Super simple pattern. My newest frustration....a toe-up sock. At least 20 hours into it....learning...frogging...trying again...starting over for the X amount of time. I can't give it up, I have shown the kids at school and using it as an example of not giving up and using different resources. What was I thinking???

Love the pictures...it is snowing AGAIN here 3-5 inches. You have missed one heck of a winter. Hugs...

I love the cowl. I think it is appropriate to have a cowl in every color. The only way to love winter is to embrace fabulous knits.

Lovely cowl! I love the idea of having it be a family cowl - that just warms my heart for some reason. I wasn't to cracked on the idea of cowls but then Carla gave me one and I made that one for you...I might need to make one for me...next winter!

How do you frog something you have put so much time into???? I am frustrated! I hate mistakes (okay mild ones are just called "love")but sersiously I hate it when I find something X rows down and can not just "fix" it. I am ready to throw my toe up sock across the room. (any words of advice...sockmama!) Miss you...happy knitting!
